WE CRAVE YOUR COMMENTS!

Dear Market Friends:
Please tell us your ideas and suggestions for our market. (If you "subscribe" when you comment, you will be notified of others' comments too.)
We want to see the benefits of a farmers' market on the Plateau, and we'll have it someday--with your help.
Thank you,
Barb and Cheryl

What's wrong with the area next to the Park Hotel (across from Library) where it's been held in the past? Is it too small?

I am sure you already looked into this, but thought I would throw it out just in case. How about the park that is across 410 from the Sales barn. There are big trees on it, but if the grass was kept in check it could be a nice place and is right off the freeway, so it would be very visual. Parking could be expanded into the sales barn parking lot if needed. Only problem would be the speed limit is 45 there (reducing from 55). I would love to see a farmer's market, so please don't give up.

Downtown is my preference and that will come only when our city administrators create policies for creating a shopping district downtown.

Small towns do not prosper by having dental offices, hair salons, real estate offices, licensing offices, insurance offices or tax preparers taking up valuable retail space.

Until strick policies are in place to ensure diversity in retail and restaurants our merchants will struggle and new businesses will go elsewhere.

We need a vital and thriving downtown and that starts with the actions of our city council and mayor.

Only then will a weekly farmers market be viable.
